To Stand/Rest In Healing

Ps. 125:1 " They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever.

We abide when obedient and trusting in the Lord.

A lot of Christian so called warfare leads them into striving because they do not have a full understanding of how to battle in a place of rest - such as keeping our healing. How many fought great battles and you are exhausted to the point you give up and believe this is meant to be for me. “My sickness must be the will of God” or “maybe the Lord is trying to teach me something?”

We need to learn how to stand in abiding rest with no more toiling, laboring, striving and no more struggle.

Some people call warfare shadowboxing with the devil. It is constantly trying to war against the enemy and that is where their attention is primarily on – the ENEMY! What do I mean? Are you looking at the circumstance? Are you looking at what the enemy is doing and taken your eyes off Christ? When this happens, we are taking our eyes off God onto the situation and making Satan and the problem much bigger than God! Remember Satan is a created being and God is not!

There are things in the Kingdom of God that contradictions to the Kingdom of God. Why! It is conflict with the flesh (the world) and the spirit (the Kingdom of God). Here are some of them:

How do you defeat evil in the Kingdom of God? By loving! What! Yes, by Loving. Doesn’t it say to love our enemies? What I’m talking here is loving those human who are hurting us even Christian brothers who can accuse. That is where the teaching separation teaching comes in. It is not them but the enemy using them as evil. Listen to what Jesus said in Matthew 5:10-13

“10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.   11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.   12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. 13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.” And Matthew 5:43-48, Romans 12:14.

Let me tell you my story. I once worked in an office with a witch, and she brought much trouble to me in the office. My car got hit six times in five months in the garage where I worked along with other things. I had become very angry with her to the point of bitterness until the Lord told me to love her and pray for her daily. I said, “NO WAY”. Out of obedience I did pray for her. My heart changed and I had a love for my enemy God’s way. My heart was for her to be saved and know God's truth and love. When I was able to love her like Jesus loves her, the attacks stopped and every curse she threw on me feel back on her because the POWER OF LOVE. I realized the POWER OF LOVE covered me and that became my shield. We've heard the term - LOVE COVERS A MULTITUDE OF SIN!

More contradictory statements in the Word that pertains to Kingdom living. (1) How do we get exalted in the kingdom of God - By humbling ourselves! (2) How do we get justified in the kingdom of God, BY NEVER DEFENDING OURSELVES. What! I allow those cruel people to run over me? Yes! Did Jesus defend himself? No! In Matthew 26:62 WHAT DOES IT SAY!:

“62 And the high priest arose, and said unto him, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee?   63 But Jesus held his peace, And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.”

AGAIN IN!

Matthew 27:11-12 “And Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And Jesus said unto him, Thou sayest.   12 And when he was accused of the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing.”

Jesus held his peace means stayed silent and not defended himself. Why, he was and is the King. Two, he did not defend himself because he knew the enemy was working in them so why talk to the enemy which is working in others!

Jesus ends at the cross and listen to what he says with LOVE in Luke 23:34:

“34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.”

When you learn not to defend yourself, you have better relationships with people. If we defend ourselves to others, it creates division, unforgiveness, resentment, retaliation, anger, wrath, hatred and violence in our hearts. The exact plan of the enemy! That means you are not abiding in rest but strife. When you abide in Christ, you know who you are in Him and don't need to defend yourself. Did you know when we get that angry it puts a toll on our bodies? This also means not going to people as our source. God is your source. This is another contradiction of the Kingdom living. We are told to have fellowship with others but the trap is having people as your source; your eyes off God onto others; you are not abiding in Christ. There is no intimacy! There is no power except setup with the enemy to bring division.

When eyes are off God, the enemy will set up scenarios to create hurt out of disappointments from expectations on others to meet a need because they become a source. You must have people but you cannot consider them as your source. I must love them but they cannot be my source. The Lord should be all my source if I'm truly abiding in His truth for me. That means He is my all and all.

How about having dinner with your enemies? We are the strongest when we respond to God and not reacting to evil manifesting through people. Is it possible to take ground from the enemy and stand? Ps. 23:1-6.

“1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.   2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.   3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.   4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.   5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.”

In vs. 3 Restores my soul means vitality and strength. In vs. 4 Fear is revere and pay attention to, staff means support and rod means authority.

To have a table prepared for you – you have to have enemy(s). Abraham sojourned in a land full of the enemy and he had peace. Why! He trusted God and God was with him. How many fret when surrounded by the enemy like the work place?

We looked at the enemy using people being used as evil against us. How about every day life circumstances with no human interactions? The same applies. Our downward spiral always happened in a preceded when the enemy has gotten your attention. They were doing fine until a catastrophic event or lack of something. He’s gotten their attention, and all of a sudden, your eyes went from God to that problem and now that problem has exalted itself against the relationship with God. Example: You are short of finances to pay bills. You might say, “why did you let this happen, God”? The more you focus on that problem, the bigger the problem will become. The bigger the problem we make it to be, bigger Satan becomes! Before you know it, you have fear, anxiety, loss of faith, doubt and unbelief God is going to take care of you. When we fall into these thought patterns, it gives the enemy rights to steal joy and peace. My question to you is WHO IS YOUR SOURCE!

You say to the Lord, "the enemy is really trying to get my attention through my finances" and you stay focused on Him and you say “Holy Spirit go take care of that” while you keep your eyes on him with faith that the Lord is going to take care of it! That is what spiritual warfare should look like. It is the knowing God is working it out even when you cannot see it instead of going into fear looking at the circumstances. The same applies when you know you've been healed and symptoms return.

Even if the enemy gets our attention, and we begin to focus on it, i.e. money, relationships, sickness and disease, fear. As soon as he can get you to turn your attention, you are starting a downward spiral of loosing power. We all know the story of Adam and Eve; as soon as he got Adam and Eve to focus on him (the enemy) their intimacy was getting cut off with God and they were weaning in power.

Let me share a testimony of rest in the middle of a circumstance. I had just moved my dad, returning the rental truck and when I was leaving the gas station, I turned too short and knocked the gas tank over. My mind immediately froze, the owner of the station shut off all gas tanks, and lost half a day of business, he even called the police on me and was harassing me in the midst of it all. I yelled out to God. I heard the Lord say “Stand and see my miracles". I knew it was under control and there was nothing to worry about. I would even forget about it until someone asked me. I felt the Lord tell me I would never hear anything about this. YOU KNOW WHAT! I never did. I stood on Hebrews 11:1. Circumstances are not eternal, disease is not eternal. If the legal doors been closed, the enemy has no rights!

“1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

 He wants you to be more aware of him than God through your circumstances. Meaning, worried about the circumstances instead of standing in faith knowing God is in control over your circumstance. The devil knows you are not going to worship him directly. How many know if he can captivate your attention the majority of the time on circumstances or what people think, it is the same thing as if you were worshipping him because all your energy is focused on the circumstances and not on God’s promises. OUCH! Have you noticed when you focus on the problem, you feel weak and drained than when you stand in faith feeling hopeful with energy! We can rest and stand believing with the knowing “it is taken care of before it is taken care of” even when there is no evidence. That's blind faith Hebrews 11:1 talks about.

Worship is focusing on that object of your affection. He gets you to focus on the problem instead of God. The more you focus on the problems you might as well be worshipping him because he has your affection and attention through the problem.

You see how the enemy gets you to focus what you don’t have (finances) or on circumstances or symptoms? What you see seems very real and what you feel seems real also That is why it is so important to discern good and evil coming in our thoughts to watch for doubt and unbelief and so on according to Hebrew 5:12.

“13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. 14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.”

The enemy wants to get you to loose faith in God onto the circumstances to zap your energy and your power in Christ. When that happens, your mind is filled with hopelessness and much reasoning. How can that be good for your health? He takes our affection and we end up defeating ourselves even though he really didn’t have any power or influence over that situation. As soon as we focus on him, WE GIVE IT TO HIM!.

We have to live in such a way that nothing ever gets better than our awareness of God and his love for us. As soon as you do, the downward spiral road of destruction starts.

God is A good God and you live in His Kingdom and under His Economics and not under the World’s way. Who knows what is ahead economically for us? Are you under God's kingdom or the World System? When we focus on Him during a circumstance, then we see the miracles. When we don’t focus on God and focus on the enemy, God cannot really move on our behalf. Like I said earlier, in an obscure not obvious way, we are worshipping Satan in the Situation. We need to allow God to be God in all circumstances. He needs to be bigger than anything.

I call this dark night of the soul or winter seasons when these opportunities show us what is in our hearts, make changes in our thinking to grow deep roots in the midst of it, and build character. The enemy always comes during dark night of the soul to bring temptation and to make wrong decisions. He is ultimately trying to get you to blame God and get you to believe “God does not care”. This is when we see others being blessed or healed, and we need not to come into contempt with God saying “what is wrong with me,” why are they being blessed”? The temptation is to turn against God is Satan’s ultimate goal or to take the bait of temptation to fall into deep self-condemnation. Are you going to allow bitterness to come into your heart, how about envy and jealousy over others blessings, how about accusation against God or self during these dark times or winter seasons.

This is where we need to make right decisions. Once you defend His goodness and you stand in the situation with faith, God moves and miracles happen either in our diseased bodies, diseased finances, bad circumstances, knowing our weaknesses needing to be repented. How many know you can confess that God is good all day; until you sufficiently resist him it is not over. When he knows he is not going to get your affection and attention, it will be over. It is standing in faith after you know you dealt with sin issues in your heart.

What causes us to not stand and be at peace in the midst of a storm? Fear, doubt and unbelief, lack of faith, not having a deep revelation that Jesus is for us and not against us. In 1 Peter 5:7 or the revelation you are a kingdom child under a kingdom of God who loves you with everything. It is not knowing the depths of his love He’s wanting to bless His children.

1 Peter 5:7 “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”

Many have had dads that did not represent the heavenly father. It is hard for you to know God’s love for you in every area of your life.

This is the same things with sickness and disease. Many get healed but when the symptoms return, immediately feel it is real and bring those diseases back instead of standing and knowing we are healed. Doubt and unbelief slips into our minds believing we lost our healing.

The battle of the mind is trusting and believing by telling God the enemy is trying to put this disease back on me while keeping your focus on the Lord. Through the Holy Spirit, we can resist and tell this spirit of infirmity and disease to go in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth while staying in intimacy (abiding in rest) with the Lord.
