Christ
redeemed us from the curse of the law
by becoming a curse for us, for it is
written: ‘Cursed is everyone who
is hung on a tree,’” Galatians
3:13
Revelations
22:3 "And there shall be no more
curse: but the throne of God and of the
Lamb shall be in it; and his servants
shall serve him:"
We
see there are curses to attend with until
Satan is destroyed.
Generational
curses are curses assigned to an individual(s)
based on the sins of his/her parents.
The person’s parents, not himself,
are the cause of curses assigned to him/her.
A person gets punished for the wrongs
of the parents. Such are called generational
curses. They can manifest in personality
traits, sin issues or emotional or physical
sicknesses or diseases, issues such as
projecting fear in the future or an issue
of controling others, etc.
Generational
curses can come from both parents. This
can be if each parent has unrepentative
sin. Generational curses act like familiar
spirits traveling down the family tree.
Exodus
34:7, "Keeping mercy for thousands,
forgiving iniquity and transgression and
sin, and that will by no means clear the
guilty; visiting (punishing) the iniquity
of the fathers upon the children, and
upon the children's children, unto the
third and to the fourth generation."
An
Example of a Generational curse in the
Bible as seen in the life of Abraham:
Abraham
travels to Egypt to escape to drought
and tells Sarah to lie to Pharaoh because
she was beautiful, and he was afraid he
would be killed. Sarah agrees to lies
but Pharaoh finds out the truth in a dream.
It was out of fear, fear of man that he
lied.
Abraham
does it again – he travels to the
land of the Philistine (Gaza strip) and
lies to Abimeleck. She says the same thing
to Sarah and Sarah agrees to lie.
His
son Isaac, travels with Rebecca (Gaza
Strip) and they both lie to Abimeleck.
He says the exact same thing to Abimeleck
and Rebecca as his father Abraham did
40 years earlier.
Abraham
and Isaace taught their wives to lie.
Rebecca lies later to Isaac with his son
when it was time to bless Essah and Jacob.
4th
generations – now jacob’s
sons lied to Jacob about Joseph being
killed by an animal when he was sold for
slavery. What was the generational sin
operating in 4 generations - 10 sons are
liars and are fearful was the sin working
in all four generations.
Satan
is the executor of the curse of the law
Christ
didn’t do away with the law. He
fulfilled it – Matthew 5:17 “Think
not that I am come to destroy the law,
or the prophets: I am not come to destroy,
but to fulfill.”
Jesus
made it possible for you to be free of
your disobedience, so you could be free
of the executor. That is what he did on
the cross for us was make a way for our
disobedience when we sin.
How
to do it? Appropriate through obedience!
Exodus
20:5 “Thou shalt not bow down thyself
to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD
thy God am a jealous God, visiting the
iniquity of the fathers upon the children
unto the third and fourth generation of
them that hate me;”
In
ministry it is clearly observed that what
has been in a family tree is currently
in the lives of people; same sin issues,
same disease.
Charge
God
wants to know what you are going to do
with creation.
Curse
Deuteronomy
28 is the great chapter on blessings and
cursings that affect you (mentally, physically,
spiritually, emotionally, relationally,
and financially).
Where
does Disease Come From?
Disease
is a type and shadow of Satan’s
kingdom. It comes from Egypt and not Zion.
Example, every time you go to a new doctor,
don't they ask about your family history
of diseases? Those are generational curses
because of the sins of the forefathers.
Deductive
reasoning
Disease
is a curse, not a blessing (even today).
The response of sick people, when asked
if they consider their disease a blessing
or a curse, some said curse (good answer,
the Bible agrees); some said it’s
from God (then why are you going to the
doctor?). Those people don’t have
an answer for disease, and they’re
giving God credit to increase their spirituality.
No, that’s ignorance.
Conclusion:
Disease is a curse
The
only way to break it is in your generation
Psychologists
have been able to document that many of
our personality characteristics including
rage, anger, predisposition to mental
disorders and certain diseases can be
found in humans without any genetic component,
but it can still be inherited. There is
not a genetic or a defective gene that
has been isolated, but the condition is
still passed on in families. We consider
those situations to be inherited familiar
spirits that follow families to create
various breakdowns in the psyche or the
soul.
Cause
and Effect
If
you don’t allow the Holy spirit
to bring you to a place of repentance
then God has no more to do.
The
Pattern for Freedom
Neh.
9:1-2 “1Now in the twenty and fourth
day of this month the children of Israel
were assembled with fasting, and with
sackclothes, and earth upon them. 2 And
the seed of Israel separated themselves
from all strangers, and stood and confessed
their sins, and the iniquities of their
fathers.
Final
Charge
To
encourage the church to bring people back
into repentance
To
help encourage others to look at generational
curses
Do
a family tree chart for four generations.
List
all mental predispositions, sins and tragedies
and find out what is flowing from generation
to generation.
If
the flow is not stopped, it will flow
into you and into your children and your
grandchildren.
Suspect
a generations curse when you see:
1.
Multiple cases of the same problem occur
in the family line, such as multiple premature
deaths, multiple cases of a particular
disease such as diabetes, multiple cases
of alcoholism, multiple cases of divorce,
stroke, heart disease, accidents, multiple
family members practicing fornication
or other repetitive sins (If the parents
or grandparents were fornicators, the
children and grandchildren will be fornicators
according to the spiritual laws which
govern curses).
2.
Deliverance, healing, or salvation are
not received
3.
Misfortunes of the same kind or another
keep happening repeatedly
4.
Personal performance at work or at home
is continually impaired or hampered despite
one's best efforts, or is continually
frustrated so that nothing seems to help
or to be able to change or improve it.
5.
You, your work, or efforts are continually
or repeatedly opposed or destroyed by
people.
Common
manifestation of generational curses operating
in your life and in your parents or grandparents
are as follows:
